I’m going to need more looks at this but initially I find the detail underneath the surface bottom left a little distracting. Otherwise, plenty in this to get you thinking, though not necessarily about the content.

akikana might be onto something; all that detail in the lower left doesn’t add much, or is it necessary to balance out the two stalks? hmm?

A little too abstracted for me. The graphic design doesn’t quite hold me and there is too little infomation about the context. A case of less (detail in the bottom of the pic) or more (background, context, environment).

Colin’s comment rings true for me also for the most part (the design doesn’t quite hold me) — except that I like the underwater details and would rather see more of them and less of the stalks!

I’ll go with the second half of Christina’s comment – the underwater detail is more interesting. But that introduces a conflict as to what the picture intends in the way of subject matter or composition.

The problem with the two reeds is that maybe there ought to be an odd number!

At the pond they came as one, two, a lot. I came very close to making another in PS!

I alrgely like it as-is. I like being able to see some of the detail under the water. I like the simplicity of just two stems. The lower left is something of a distraction, however.
